One of my favorite remedies is a tea tree oil and
lavender oil spray. Tea tree oil has many benefits including antibacterial,
anti-insecticides, and anti-fungicide properties, which helps cleanse and
protect. The only drawback to this oil is the unpleasant smell. This is where
lavender oil comes in play. Lavender oil is known to have calming scent to
reduce stress, induce sleep, and clear respiratory systems.
The combinations of these two oils are great for so many
uses. Here are my top 5 ways I use this mix:
- Yoga Mat - I don’t use
this spray as a deep cleaner, but a quick spritz before and after a yoga
session to refresh the mat.
- Pillow Case - Since we lay
on our pillows nightly this can cause pillow to be covered with facial
oils, which causes breakouts. A spritz of the mix keeps the pillows fresh.
- Spray in footwear -
Unfortunately I suffer from athletes foots, which is annoying. To make
sure I don’t trigger irritation I spray the mix in my shoes and
sandals.
- Mosquito repellents -
Since I was a kid I seem to attract mosquitoes like bees to flowers. To
help keep bugs away, I love spraying this around my bedroom.
- Moth repellent on clothes – Lavender oil is a great solution to repel moths from ruining your favorite t-shirts.
To make the mix is simple. All you need is:
• Tea Tree Oil
• Lavender Oil
• Water
• Travel spray bottle ( 4 OZ )
Instructions: Fill up the travel spray bottle with water. Then add 4-6 drops of tea tree oil into bottle and same amount for lavender oil.
